How staff put it on a home screen
Android, Chrome
Open the link and accept the install prompt, or use the browser menu and choose Install app. It then behaves like any other app, with its own icon and no browser chrome.
iPhone, Safari
Open the link, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. iOS does not offer an install prompt, so staff need telling — it is the one step people miss.
Windows or Mac desktop
Chrome and Edge show an install icon in the address bar. Useful for the branch counter and the plant office, where the app then opens in its own window.
Worth knowing before you roll it out
Camera scanning needs a secure origin, so the apps must be served over HTTPS anywhere other than localhost. A browser will silently refuse the camera on plain HTTP and the scan screen will look broken. These apps also need a live connection to scan and to move an order along — they are not offline tools.
